THE CARS

Falcon Vs Commodore Flexi car series, Jan 08.

Slot cars (as we know them today) have been around since the late 1950's, and have been available in many scales.

The most popular (commercially available) scales are 1/64 (HO), 1/43, 1/32, and 1/24.

Our track is most suitable for 1/32 and 1/24 scales.  While others can work, they are not generally used.

Club Racing

For club racing on Wednseday nights, cars used are 1/24 scale factory made 'flexi' chassis using stock Super 16D motors.

Suitable 'flexi' chassis are available from different manufacturers, and most common on our track are by Champion or Parma.

Each series runs for approximately 1 school term (8~10 weeks) and uses a different body for each time.

Bodies are vacuum formed in clear PETG, or Polycarbonate plastic, and are painted then fitted to the chassis.
